Date Received in Saved emails is incorrect

When I save emails to a windows folder and then open them later, the Date Received is incorrect. Instead of showing the date that the e-mail was received (as displayed in TB!) is displays the date and time that I open the message. Each time I open a saved message, the current date and time is displayed.

Is it supposed to do this?

Yes it is supposed to do that. Without altering the message itself TB can't add a header with the date it received the message. (And TB doesn't alter incomin messages.)
In TB's message base that's remedied by a separate index file for every folder, but that can't be done here.

What you might consider is exporting such a message in the unix mailbox format, that format saves the received time.

I can save them as TXT files and preserve the date, although what I usually do nowdays is to "print" them as PDF files.

At least I now understand why the date is displayed this way when saved.

Thanks for your reply.
