Dictionaries crash TheBat

Hi,

I have added Catalan language to Dictionaries using two files (sscect.tlx, sscect2.clx) into /speller folder.

After restart TheBat, there is not any change in the language status bar option to announce the new language.

Also, when I try to add the new dictionary using
* New message > Ortography > Dictionaries > Add file *
then TheBat window becomes white as if there is a memory overload.

The dictionary file is 3MB (.TLX file). I note rest of languages files are not bigger than 1 MB. I wonder if there is some limit in the dictionary files.

And please, if my procedure to add a new dictionary is not right I will be glad to know. I cannot find a clear explanation in Help documentation to do this.

I'm using TheBat 3.80

thanks,

Your procedure isn't as it should be.
And as this is an English forum, the best way to tell what you did is by changing the interface language of your bat to English and then checking how the functions you use are called. I had to set my interface to Spanish in order to be sure that what you called 'orthography' is called 'Spell Checker' in the English interface. :-)

After adding a new language to the speller dictionary, you should be able to change to the new language for the spell checker via the menu of the editor via:
Spell Checker -> Languages -> Pick your language

I add the new language but then there is a long delay collapse, until TheBat becomes active again. And later when I try to open a message, then TheBat crash.

The dicttionary is a 1.1 MB .dic file. Here (ca_ES.dic):

some help?

thanks :)

naoko, your .TLX file has 3Mbytes? I see possible reason for problem, because CLX is supposed to include hundred thousands words, while TLX only hundreds or thousands, generally it has 10kB...

The Bat! uses TLX as user dictionary and if file has
3MB, it could contain million of words (my czech dictionary contains 860 000 words and CLX has 2MB)

yes... Well, the process I have followed to create the dictionary is this:

First I put the ca_Es.dic file inside /Speller folder.
The file contains a word list in this format:

abac/EVY
abaca/VY
abacallanada/V

so I have clean all the /* word terminations.

Then:

1- I open  Spell Checker > Dictionaries

2 - I click in "new file", and here I put a name and I choose the language "Catalan"

3 - now I have "Catalan" in the File's select box. Now I click in "Import", then I choose the file /Speller/ca_ES.dic

4 - the import process start. A new file catalan.tlx has been created but the process collapses at 190KB.
There is not a new "catalan.clx" file.

What's the process to import a new dictionary?.

I want to add the manual of TheBat is plainly useless in providing enough information.

thanks a lot for your help,

two important things:

SSCE files (clx/tlx) must be placed in SPELLER folder

HUNSPELL files (dic and aff) must be placed in DICTIONARIES folder

try to backup all files in SPELLER and DICTIONARIES folders and place ca_ES.dic and ca_ES.aff files into DICTIONARIES folder. Start The Bat! and check spellchecking in editor.

I have do it and restart TheBat but nothing happens. The languages list shows many languages not the new one :(

- Maybe should I delete some languages?

- Is there any configuration file to specify the languages list?

thanks,

ok problem solved afeter uncompress dictionaries again
