trouble encrypting with OpenPGP

I am trying to set up TheBat to encrypt/decrypt with
OpenPGP.  I have set up the OpenPGP keyring
with public and private keys.  I can successfully
decrypt messages fine, but when I try to
encrypt, I get the message box:

OpenPGP Error
Program output:
gpg:  D7A38A88: The is no assurance this key belongs to the named user
gpg:  [stdin]: encryption failed: unusable public key

I found something in the forum suggesting I should go
to Options->OpenPGP->OpenPGP Preferences->Files
and then set "GnuPGP External Key Manager" to
c:\Program Files\GNU\GnuPG\WinPT.exe

I did this, but result is still the same.

Please help.

Did you use PGP Internal Implementation and then switched to GnuPG?

Yes, because PGP Internal Implementation does not support PGP 3.0, which I need in order to work with hushmail.com

I am posting my PGP-related question here to avoid opening a new topic.

I am using TB 3.99.29 (too many problems with the TB 4.x versions) and my question is:

Which PGP versions are compatible with TB 3.99.29 ?

Basically I just want to sign some e-mails when needed (on demand)and (very) rarely to encrypt. I had done this a long time ago with TB 1.x and it had worked perfectly.

V3 is compatible with PGP 5,6,6,8 and GPG

The Bat! Internal implementation use IDEA algorithm that is not supported by GnuPG. Besides that, GnuPG uses newer data formats. I recommend you to either use only Internal implementation, or entirely use GnuPG. If you entirely use GnuPG, then also generate keys by GnuPG.

Thanks for the advice people  :D
