The Bat! crashing on Windows 7 RC (build 7108)

I've been using The Bat! with XP and Vista for years, and the Windows 7 beta for a few months.  Now that there is a new RC, I'm finding The Bat no longer works.  This is on Windows 7 build 7108, but I see on some Neowin forums that people are reporting this has been happening since around 7077.

The exact error is:
Themida
An internal exception occured (Address: 0x0)
Please, contact support@oreans.com. Thank you!

This is on v4.0.34 of The Bat!  Does anyone know if this is already fixed in a newer version?  Since everything's been working well, I haven't seen a need to upgrade to the 4.1 versions yet.  In any case, in the "What's new" lists, I don't see anything about fixing crashes in Windows 7.

AFAIK TB is Windows 7 compatible yet, but I'm not sure about that. What I do know is that the 4.0 version will never be Windows 7 compatible (because it isn't developed anymore), so an upgrade to 4.1 will necessary in due time.

Roelof, thanks.  I guess I'll wait until someone can provide a definite answer before I upgrade.  I'm really just testing things right now, and haven't made a decision about whether I'll switch to Windows 7 yet.

As themida is a software protection mechanism, I guess the TB devs need to upgrade the development environment to the new version of themida (or stop using it at all ;-)). Maybe they have already done that, I don't know.

Possibly a TB dev can answer this one.

Just my 2c

That's what I'd like to see: the devs giving some hint about whether this is fixed or, at the least, is a known issue.

They have said they will address it when it is out of beta. There is no sense fixing it while it is a moving target.

So I guess yes, they are aware of it and they hear you and are waiting for the product to stabilize

I am just repeating what I have heard on the beta list.  :)

I have been using TB in Windows 7 Ver 7100 for sometime now and as yet have not had a problem.
Dunno about ver 7108 though.
TB Version is 4.1.11

D'oh!  This must be something new to build 7108, then.  Still, I hope TB can be updated soon.  I've been forced to use Thunderbird while on 7108, and although I still like The Bat better, I see that Thunderbird v3 beta has some nice features that I would love to see added to The Bat.  Mainly, I'd like to see the addition of their tags, which seems to be like Gmail's tags.

Warner,
I have just updated to Windows7 ver 7127 and TB seems to be working fine .. MSTAG also works fine ..

Stevie,

That's odd.  I can't think what would cause this problem, unless there's just a bug in 7108 itself?  Well, that's frustrating.  Maybe I'll take a stab at cleaning out all registry entries and things and try re-installing just to be sure.

Thanks
