Mailto: won't connect to TB, mailto screwed up

Greetings gang..

Seems I have a problem and not sure if it's me or if it's common.  I couldn't find any current thread about this.

Seems if I click on a mailto: URL, it'll sit for a few seconds with an hourglass then stop, with nothing from TB. If I switch default mail to OE, it'll work fine, pulls up OE, even though it's not even configured as I've never used it, it still attempted to do the mailto command.

If I have TB open, it'll switch to that window, but nothing happens and a new compose window never opens.

Am I missing something? It did work in the past, but I can't say exactly when it started failing.  MY best guess is within the past month or so.  

I've tried mailto on 3 different websites, including mine and it fails on all.

Clues?

Well, i think i solved this on my own.  In case anyone else has this problem, here's what I did.

I read in an old post to change the default mail browser to OE, which i did, but it didn't help.  But, when i closed TB, THEN changed the default to OE, when i reopened TB, it asked about setting the default (and mailto) settings back to TB, which I did and it worked ok..

So just changing the settings didn't work, it was changing, closing and reopening that did.
