Managing multiple accounts

I have about 8+ email accounts that I'm trying to manage as effectively as possible. There are three main accounts and a bunch of sub-accounts under each of these three. (My ISP allows me to set up disposable sub-accounts for each e-mail address).

After much experimentation I discovered that the best way to deal with filters for the accounts is to have filters inside the main accounts only and have these filters handle all the accounts.

This works well generally.
I run into problems though when I want to send mail from each of the sub-accounts.

In order to do this, I must set up Transport/Receive Mail/Mail Server info. This is because when sending mail, I'm asked to supply the 'receive mail' Username and Password.

So my question is this. Is there a way in The Bat to have it NOT log in and receive mail for a account, but still have that 'receive mail' info available for the times when I need to send mail?

I hope I have made myself clear.

TIA

Yes, that's an account setting:
Account -> Properties -> Transport -> Uncke 'Combined delivery'

What I forgot to mention, you don't need to secreate a new account to send mail from an alias. Youcan also create a folder in the main account, filter all messages to your alias in the new folder.
At the folder properties you set the folder identity to your alias and you're done.

I checked my accounts, and each one had the setting unchecked. So that isn't the problem.

This has been suggested to me in the past big Big One.
I can't see how this will work for me though.
As I mentioned in my first post, I need to be able to Receive messages and have them filtered into their folders/accounts AND also be able to Send messages from each account/e-mail address.

How can I set up The Bat so I can send messages from 4 different addresses if they all reside under the same account?

I'm using V.1.61

TIA

Sel ect a folder and pick from the menu:
Folder -> Properties -> Identity -> From Address -> Enter some address.
Now select the folder again and create a new message, you'll see that the fr om address of your message is the address defined in the folder identity.
But as it is an account based folder (IIRC 1.6 didn't support common folders) it'll use the account settings for sending the message.
Way back when I was using v1, it worked for me (it still does wit v4) so I guess it will work for you too.

Cool! Thanks Roelof.
I tried out some test mailings and it looks like the folder method will work out.

Thanks again!
