How do I edit the dop-down "To" list of addresses?, Cannot delete mistyped addresses

How do I remove these mistyped addresses please? Highlighting them and pressing the delete key does not remove them. Is there a file they live in, that I can go edit? Thanks for any advice.

I click to open the drop-down list, and then select an item with the down or up arrow keys, without touching the mouse anymore. Then hitting Delete removes the highlighted entry, the same like with IE autocomplete lists.
