Extremely slow start-up of The Bat, Changed to Windows 7, now Bat loads in 8 minutes

This is driving me crazy. I have just moved to Windows 7 and installed the Bat; I used backup and restore and all seemed well with that move. But whenever I try to start the Bat, it takes between 8 to 10 minutes to start. I have tried reinstalling - no joy. I have two accounts and only about 2,750 emails and it works just fine on my other computers. I have been using the Bat for many years and so am used to its little quirks, but this has me completely foxed.

I also tried synchronizing but have found the new system where there is reference only to Data Exchange folders being the same, very confusing and I can't move past the waiting for the signal stage! So would be very grateful for any help anyone can give me.

minutes? does it splash screen displayed or not? do You see process in task manager? what happens after 8 minutes?

The splash screen hangs there... and then it just loads normally. And yes, it IS minutes!! Sometimes even more than 10 minutes.
I have worked on the Maintenance centre too...
The process in task manager appears to be not running although there seems to be hard disk activity.
Thanks
