Upgrading impossible, TB doesnt like the backup file

I use 3.80.06 on xp now
and want to upgrade to the latest pro
version on win7...stupid me even already payed

I made a backup first (900mb 200k+ emails)
then installed the latest Bat! Pro and first
it seemed to run fine, but soon I noticed
that it restored the backup to fast.
After it finished 99% was missing

I tried a few things then and noticed:
If I select the backup it appears in a
list, if I click on it there I get an
access violation 000000000 (one 0 more or
less) at 00000....1 or something like that.

Anyway, how can I fix it...or I need to
get my money back :/ I like the bat
but if i cant upgrade it its usless

You can't use the latest version with a backup from 3.80, the message base format changed per v4.1
The best procedure is to install 3.80 or 4.0, restore the backup
And next to install the latest version on top of the old version, that will convert the message base to the new format.

Thanks for the fast answer

I wanted to try that but it warned
me it would delete all data that
way...I guess I ll risk it then

thx

That would have been the warning about the new message base forma, I guess.
