new folder view - like in web gmail, (sci-fi request)

Dear all,

i've been using TB for a long, long time - and till now i managed to configure it just as it pleased me.

Lately, a new thought popped into my head. Because I'm also using WEB Gmail interface on some email accounts - i was wondering if you know a way to simulate, in a custom view mode - the view from WEB Gmail;

email 1 - my original email sent;
- RE: email1 - friend1 response
- RE[2]: email1 - friend2 response
- FW: email1 to friend 3
- RE[3] email1 to all of the above;

(i need this because i send/receive a lot of emails to various people, and the replies go back in time alot)

Don't know if I'm was able to explain myself clearly, but I'm open to suggestions.

thank you

I'm not sure about the way gmail represents this, as I download all of my gmail stuff straight into TB before I even look at it..
But what you describe is how I'm sorting my mail and I was doing that before gmail existed.

I'm sorting my messages, both incoming and outgoing, into folders with filters that use address book groups as criteria. Those folders all use a view mode that shows the messages threaded by references and subject. And that's the view mode that you're describing.

Dear Roelof, thank you for the reply. could you provide a screen capture, for a better understanding?

here is how i see my email in gMAIL powered mail - in WEB/HTTP access (gmail, thebat.net etc.) - by default.

i did not find an option for sorting a folder based on 2 criteria (only date, subject ... etc). could you also detail it.

thank you for your help

You should not to get what I mean, but you should use a view mode that's based on threading by references and subject.
Options -> Preferences -> Message List -> View Modes...
