2GB loop problem, The Bat! thinks my Inbox has over 2GB when it has been cleared

I am completely stuck. I keep getting this message when I try to retrieve messages:

"The size of the folder "Inbox" is about to reach 2GB. Please consider removing messages fr om "Inbox" to various smaller folders and compress the folder"

I did as requested and reduced my Inbox - Known considerably - way below the lim it. I still get the same message and am unable to retrieve any messages.

I also followed the instructions of a forum administrator in creating a new folder, closing The Bat!, and then moving the .tbb file to the new folder. The messages move correctly but the 2GM message remains and I am still unable to receive messages.
I have done Check integrity / repair on the folder- still no luck.

Looking forward to receiving your assistance.

I am using The Bat! Home edition 4.0.34 under Window XP

Thanks!

Try this:
Folder -> Maintenance centre
Select all folder and check the options 'Purge old/exceeding messages' and 'Compact (remove deleted messages)'
Then press  'start'
Most likely the problem is that you've deleted messages, but that you didn't compact the folder, thus leaving the messages marked as deleted, but still present in the folder. (You can actually see them by selecting the folder and the folder -> browse deleted messages)
I hope this helps.
