How to change the font size

I know this has been asked before and the answer is to go to

Options->Preferences->Messages->Colour Groups

but there is no option there to change the font. Tried making a colour group and still there is nothing there to change a font.

I am using Options fr om the main page - wh ere else should I look please?

Options->Preferences->Message List->Font
There is a 'change' button and when you press that, you can change the font itself, its style and its size.

Thanks - I had been wondering about the message list, but it was the message itself that I wanted to enlarge. I know you can do an individual message with ctrl/+ but it does not stick for all messages. From what I have read here I thought it was through colour groups but there does not seem to be an option for that.

No, that has nothing to do with colour groups, colour groups are a way mark messages in the message list.

The problem with the font size when you reading messages is that they're defined by the writer of the message, not by the reader. That's HTML for you.
That's the reason that I've set TB to show the messages as plain text. You can change the appearance of plain text by editing a viewer profile:
Options -> Preferences -> Viewer/Editor -> Profile Layout

I am getting confused over this. The help file says this

Quote

Create a new colour group

1. Go to Options->Preferences->Messages->Colour Groups and Fonts

2. Click New

3. Enter a name

4. Enter a unique ID

5. Choose a Font Script

6. Select the colours and styles for background and font

7. Repeat step 6 for all messages states available through the tabs

which I assumed applied to the message. Is the help file out of date since their is no font option here. Using ver 4.2.42.

Other programs can change the size of html mail also TB can change it using ctrl + but does not retain the setting.

I know you do not like html but it is difficult to read incoming hmtl mail - for instance invoices and other business mail

Colour groups are applied to the message as it's listed in the message list, they have no bearing to how the message itself is displayed.

The help file is somewhat out of date, maintenance of the help file is Ritlans' weakest point.
