Import From Thunderbird

Using the import wizard imports the folders but not the messages.

Think it only does one folder at a time.

  1. Create the folder in The Bat!,
  2. Open the folder in The Bat!
  3. then sel ect the corresponding folder from Thunderbird to Import
Has been awhile - never used Thunderbird, yet worked from .eml

Thanks.

Once you have defined folders, the import function for eml files should do what you want, but you may first need to convert Thunderbird folder contents to eml files. A good Thunderbird addon for that is at https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/index-en.html   Good luck.

As a recent convert to The Bat 8.8.9 but long term user of Thunderbird (now using version 6.7.1 32bit) I can confirm that this addon worked well for me, and I had a lot of emails to export.
Create a sub-folder somewhere, and with the addon installed in Thunderbird, choose TOOLS >> IMPORTEXPORT TOOLS >> EXPORT ALL MESSAGES IN A FOLDER >> EML FORMAT then just choose the sub-folder of your choice and all will be sweet.
Importing those messages into The Bat from there is easy.
I moved back to The Bat because users of Thunderbird had been informed that as from version 6.8 many old extensions and addons won't work, so I figured it may mean, no encryption facilities.
I reckon Ritlabs might do well out of the next Thunderbird upgrade.

I'm pleased it worked for you. The author stated that this addon will be retired before version 68 is released, so it's good you made the move now and not later. My guess is Thunderbird will survive and thrive, although it may be a bit bumpy as developers shift to a new platform.
