I believe you need to log into gmail.com and set to allow for access by less secure clients. I think the link to 'account permissions', just above 'Allow' may do that.

I did that before the install so that's not it.

When I go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions , I see two entries for The Bat: under "Third-party apps with account access" and under "Signing in with Google". Maybe the latter is required to enable the former?

On the page one level up, https://myaccount.google.com/security , "Less secure app access" is OFF for me. I think it's no longer required now that The Bat supports some more modern encryption methods.

I have the same problem, on an account I have been using for a long time with the Bat.
Now I have the gray window.
I see two entries for The Bat like above and less secure app ON.
But nothing to do..

I have the exact same problem - I did not have this problem on the bat version 8, but on the 9.

Can you please help.

I wantto buy the product, but without loggin in to gmail I cant do anything.

Ciao. I can no longer use Gmail in Thebat!
At the mail check he asks me for the password and then the window opens to allow TheBat! to read my e-mails.
Unfortunately, the CONSENT button is obscured and does not allow me to authorize TheBat! to read mail.
How can it be solved?
Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear it, Vittorino, and I don't have a solution.. have you contacted Ritlabs' Technical Support about it (see the top menu on this page) ?

Also having the same issue.
I have 2-factor auth enabled in my google account - could that be a problem? Since I do not even have the option for "less secure applications".

I broke the boxes of TheBat!
Gmail, the missed possibility to see / download p7m files I use it from version 1 but I'm really fed up

Hello everyone,
At work we're using Google Apps.

Since the latest Windows10 update, the Allow button in oauth window is disabled.

I've tried changing the Internet Explorer setting to less or no security, but no success.

Any clues or workarounds?

Thanks,

Interesting, same problem for me, i tried adding a gmail account i have access to via other bat client on another computer where i added this account a long time ago but with this new install i cannot add the gmail account.

The authorize button is greyed out just as shown above.

On the last image, you can find the inactive buttons whish can't pass and authorize.
Could you help me with this?

There's gotta be a solution right? No employees from Ritlabs monitor the forums? I want to buy the product but this problem has to be solved first!

I have submitted a ticket through support 2 weeks ago and still haven't heard back....

I received emails at all of my Google domains today that "Less Secure App" access via passwords is going to be disabled in two stages -- and by 2021 will no longer be allowed.

I am using the last The Bat! version 8 release.  I experimented with changing authorization type on one of my gmail accounts to OAUTH. I was at least able to download new mail, but the process is very broken, because the ALLOW button in the popup is grayed out. If I just close it, it still works, but this is not a tenable situation going forward. I press a shortcut key multiple times while I am using TB! to get new mail, and dismissing a bunch of popups for all these accounts would be ridiculous.

Anyone using TB! with OAUTH and GMail successfully?  Any idea why the ALLOW button in the OAUTH popup is not clickable?

I am using v7.4.16, for which OAUTH was supposed to be compatible, but OAUTH isn't working for Gmail.

I reported the problem here. I was informed that OAUTH will be fixed in v9, but not in earlier versions. (Please see the thread.)

I see that v9.0.14 is available and it make reference to updating to Google's new protocols. Perhaps this will fix the gmail issues?

Try it by yourself and tell us.

The Bat! 9.0.14
19 December 2019
Improvements
The Bat! v9.0.14 is in compliance with the Google's recently updated security standards related to the OAuth 2.0 protocol for authentication with Gmail

Just installed 9.0.14 and was able to successfully connect to my Gmail account on Windows 10.

Hi,

I have 9.0.16. and I have this greyed out issue too (Win 8.1.).

I copied the link fr om the auth window to a normal browser, and I could do the authentication there, and it returned a long random code saying that I should paste it into The Bat.

But wh ere exactly?

So that worked almost...

[mod-edit: this message moved to ongoing discussion on same subject]

When I try to add an IMAP account and reach the step when the Gmail confirmation is required, the Allow is gray (disabled)
Any idea how to resolve it?

It may help if you share which version you're using. Gmail access requirements have changed in recent years and older versions of TB! may have problems.
