POP/IMAP hybrid like Thunderbird

It acts like POP because all messages are stored on my PC. It acts like IMAP because if I delete a message on my PC, it also gets deleted from my Gmail account (but not the other way around). Can TB do something like that?

TB! does that. If I'm offline, the messages are still there. However, if I delete fr om online, it disappears from PC. Which is what I want, so I'm confused. I tried this also on Thunderbird with identical results. It will help if you define how your account is defined in Thunderbird. I can understand POP wh ere the setting is to keep on server. I don't use POP, so have no experience there.
