solution is for Voyager and googlemail not Gmail itself (gsuite vs gmail) - yes - i tried to use smtp but it return different error

20.01.2021, 18:39:36: IMAP  - Connected to IMAP server (imap.gmail.com)
>20.01.2021, 18:39:36: IMAP  - Gimap ready for requests from 93.105.177.210 l23mb27539199ltc
20.01.2021, 18:39:36: IMAP  - Authenticating (user: "xxxxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com", method: "LOGIN")...
!20.01.2021, 18:39:37: IMAP  - Application-specific password required: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833 (Failure)

In the Transport options of the properties of your Gmail account, do you use connection type 'Secure to dedicated port (TLS)'?

yes - imap TLS on port 993

i see that on polish board http://thebat.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2758  another person have exactly the same error :)  less secure app force account to turn off 2FA  etc - its NOT RECOMMENDED method

yes - i tried to use IMAP via thebat but still cant get it to work.
Thebat need to change way to get the oauth pasword - copying the oauth link into firefox or cgrome allow me to get the key but there is no way to manually put it back - using internal " browser" dont work as TheBat use MODDED CEF for delphi not original CEF and that prevent google to acces account directly

Well, to Ritlabs' credit, it used to work fine and it seems that it was Google that broke it (yet again) by changing something.

Usually, when there are gmail related problems, there are complaints from many more users, but it could be that google has only implemented the changes in a few of it servers for now, and the problem will spread to other users in the weeks ahead.

It would probably be helpful if you submit this problem to Ritlabs through the 'Support' menu above. If you do, please point them to this topic and include a log file of the failed log-in (I don't use IMAP myself, but there may be options for verbose loggng and for protocol logging, just like POP3 accounts have).

The latest beta version of The Bat that was released for testing today includes a provision for the Google problem:

Version 9.3.2.6 is available

https://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb9.3.2.6-x32-full.7z

https://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb9.3.2.6-x64.7z

Here is  a short list of changes:

[*] It's now possible to sort address groups in the group selector dialog
[-] Deleted shortcuts were not properly stored/restored
[-] Set CEF user-agent field to avoid GMail login failure
[-] UTF-8 decoding could fail on texts with emojis

Hopefully this will solve the problem. If so, the next regular release should work properly again, too.
