Unable to Update V. 10.0.3
 
TheBat says I'm up to date, but selecting help > about notes I am running version 10.0.3. I tried downloading the latest version and installing, but it won't update and still says version 10.0.3. Has anyone faced such an issue and found a resolution?
 
What stops you to download from here https://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/download.php ?

Nothing stops me fr om downloading there as that is wh ere I tried to download and install the latest version 10.2.1. As I said in my first post: "I tried downloading the latest version and installing, but it won't update and still says version 10.0.3."

I've never had such a problem, but what I would do would be to back up all e-mails, uninstall TB, install the new version, and restore.

In practice, restoring involves little more than creating accounts again and pointing them to the existing TB data folder, after which TB loads all existing account data and continues as before.
 
In following your directions, I performed a backup and uninstalled TB. During uninstall I saw two versions of TB, including the latest one. Apparently the old version was not removed nor were the shortcut links updated when I tried to update. Regardless, I uninstalled both versions, rebooted then installed the latest version without auto-updates and all is fine with the latest version now running. I didn't need to restore files either which was nice.

The installer failing to remove an older version of TB has been a running problem for a while now, resulting in all sorts of issues. Now we have a new one on the list, as I don't remember anyone reporting the effect you had. Thanks for sharing your experience, and let's hope TB serves you well for years to come.

And yes, the no-update version is the way to go currently, as the auto-updater still seems to be unreliable.
 
Are you run TB from that path? - C:\Program Files\The Bat!\TheBat64.exe (right)

Or from old shortcut to somewhere in C:Users? (wrong)
