Yahoo Mail Plus SMTP, Mutliple POP Accounts using a common SMTP

I am a Yahoo Mail Plus subscriber which allows me to access my mails using POP3 and SMTP. I have multiple Accounts (Gmail, Personal Email, Yahoo Mail) configured already. Apparently, I can't use the Yahoo SMTP and GMAIL POP3 together. But, for my other personal accounts, the Yahoo SMTP works fine.

Any ideas whats going on?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "sue them together" I have several Gmail accounts and a Yahoo that I get via Ypops and they all play together well.

There IS an issue where the connection center will seem to hang - my way around that is to set the mail to POP at different times and some don't even try to get mail at start up. I still get the hanging connection center but just close it or "Abotr all"

It appears you'd like to use the Yahoo smtp server for your gmail account. When properly configured that should pose no problems for TB. However lots of anti-spam measures definitely diminish the chance of your mail getting to its intended recipient that way.
Therefore I'd suggest to use gmail's smtp server for your gmail account.
What are you trying to schieve by sending everything by one smtp server?

Thanks for your reply.

Roelof, you are right. I am trying to configure TB to access my GMAIL account and send mails through the Yahoo SMTP.

What I am trying to achieve here is to have a common SMTP server since I do a lot of moving around. I access the internet through various networks. Such set setup eliminates the need for me to keep changing my SMTP address depending on the network I am using.

I try to stay away from the GMAIL smtp as it is very selective on the type of attachments.

btw, here are the details of the Yahoo Mail Plus SMTP:

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server:
pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 995)

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)

Account Name/Login Name: your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com")

Email Address: your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., user@yahoo.com)

Password: your Yahoo! Mail password

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but I am having trouble setting up yahoo plus for outgoing mail.

What I have currently as follow;

SMTP SERVER: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
PORT: 465
Connection: Regular

(Under Authentication)
CHECKED - Perform SMTP AUthentication (RFC 2554)
Username: username@yahoo.com
Password: mypassword
CHECKED - Require Secure Authentication

I believe I got the settings right, but unfortunately, the mails arent sending at all.
The only thing I am not quite sure is SSL, where do I enable that or is that already enabled? since I checked the 2 boxes.

Please advice. Thanks a million!

Disable the 'require secure authetication' option and set the connevtion type for smtp to starttls in stead of regular.

I just tried, this still isnt working for me.
I check the logs, it didnt state the error, but just stated that message is NOT sent.
Any other solutions? I read a couple of other threads, and it says something about address book > certification, does that have to do with it?

Please advise.

Enable protocol logging for your yahoo account.
Account -> Properties -> Transport -> Protocol logging -> Sending protocol
Try to send a message
Disable protocol logging
Post the log in this thread, but take care that usernames and passwords are published in the log, so you'd better delete them from your post.

It looks like you've disabled smtp-authentication alltogether, you should have disabled only the secure authentication

Thanks for the quick response again.
Not really.. I have uploaded a screenshot of my current setting:

Are you using the yahoo smtp server to send mail from a hotmail address? Does that work with other mail clients? There are providers that don't allow that and I'm not familiar with yahoo's policies in this regard.

I have tried both actually, and it still doesn't work :(

I am/was a member of several yahoo groups, for those you needed verified addresses too. You could check your prifile what you need to do to get your address verified.

I have tried using yahoo.plus on different mailer, but its just not working with the bat!. I am assuming that its mainly because the bat! doesnt support SSL? If thats really the case, what can we do about this?

Please advise. I have done everything possible to get things working.

I am plus and got it to work:

(send mail)
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
tls (in the dropdodwn) - port 465

Authentication... checkmark perform SMTP
select same user/pw

that's it.

(get mail)
imap.mail.yahoo.com
your_yahoo_name@yahoo.com
pw
tls - 993
authentication - regular
