actually, i have simply copied over an old backup over my system partition but i didn't know how to make a short topic title out of that.

anyway, since then i get the following error: "FETCH - Could not connect to the server"

i figured that since the backup is pretty old, maybe the bat wasn't installed yet and some libraries might be missing, so i reinstalled it - but i still got that error.

so i took a look at my firewall... complete access for the bat and when i check my mails, i see that my firewall allows the connection - so that can't be it as well.

then i figured that maybe my account settings got screwed up somehow, so i set everything to regular (even though i think that TLS used to work...), re-entered my password, i even created a new account within the bat, so i can be sure that all the settings are at default - still nothing.

the last thing i thought of was that maybe, for whatever reason, my computer just can't connect to the pop server. weird port issues or whatever... but i tried accessing the server using the mail-part of opera and it worked like a charm. so i can't help but think that the problem lies with the bat after all...

can anyone here think of another reason why i might experience this problem or what else i could try to get the bat working again?
