We've tested almost 50 builds, since v5 changed from alpha to beta.
I'm quite satisfied ith the way it's running as I encounter only minor (cosmetic) bugs. However there are those among the beta testers who definitely are not as happy as I am. As TB is rather versatile and I don't use all its options and some of those options contain bugs that are considered show stoppers. But we're getting there. Note: See my signature, I'm just a user (who happens to be a beta tester) These comments are my personal opnion and Ritlabs can't be held responsible for them.

we are getting closer to final, there were 50 issues fixed in last two weeks. There are still some issues in IMAP, virtual folders, viewmodes and hints, but they are going to be addressed in upcoming weeks and I expect personally, final will be available in march.

Any chance of a manual with release v5?

i think the look & feel should be more compatible and smart like windows 7 aero.

Come on guys, please give us regular updates on the current status.
I know software development is always hard to predict/manage, but communication is key here. If things take longer than expected, so be it. But at least let the users know what's up. Thank you, Robin. |

We're trying a release candidate, so I guess it'll be April.

I agree as the interface and look should change over a period of time and not remain the same. I have been using TB since 8 years and am very very happy, but change is required in terms of look.

So much for a release in March..!
Guess maybe there might be a release in April? |

I am just a user, but one who knows more than I, has suggested it might be in April. They are working out the last of the bugs now. Some of the bugs come up when one thing is fixed and it breaks something else. I don't use IMAP myself, but the ones who do are happy with the way it is going I hope that helps |

If The Bat Pro v5 doesn't offer a very good e-mail import function from Thunderbird, one that also includes all the sub folders as well, they loose at least one potential buyer (me). I have strictly organized hundreds of my e-mails in lots of subfolders, impossible to convert all by hand. Am also not willing to also buy a second product to convert my e-mails into The Bat as well. The Bat should make this possible by itself if it wants Thunderbird users to change... And that's a big market.
Thanks, -- jan |

To fix your issue try dragging from Thunderbird to the equivalent folder in the Bat. If you have trouble with that, try dragging to an intermediate folder. Some data is not converted like one of the dates (receive or created) It will show the date that you dragged and dropped them.
I am being vague as I moved from Thunderbird a LONG time ago I WILL tell you that the first item on the Import list in v5 is Mozilla Thunderbird. I havent tried it |

Thanks, that would be a good thing. Hoping i don't need to create 100 folders by hand first and then drag/drop messages into them. That would suck.
