Hi, How can I select all recipients in an address book for sending a serial message? I can select a few by holding down the CTRL key, but how can I select all of them?
Ctrl+A works for me. Even better, you can create groups within address books, and send e-mails to the groups by selecting the group and clicking New Message. Better yet, you can do the same with the whole address book.
(oops, Miloš already answered while I was still typing this.. )
Doesn't Ctrl-A work?
If you do this often, you could also put all contacts in an address book group and assign a handle (nickname) to that group. From then on, you can simply type just the handle in the 'To:' field of a message, and it will be sent to all contacts in that group.

Note: If you do not have your own mail server, your internet provider's mail server may block your message if you try to send too many copies at once (this is to prevent spam. Check with your provider how many messages you are allowed to send in how much time).

With another mail client I used to use, there was a limit on the number of characters you could put into the address fields(s) so this effectively limited the number of recipients you could send to. In that case, using a Mailing List could get you round that particular limitation, but even then, you might find that your ISP/mail provider places their own limits on the number of addresses, supposedly as an anti-spam measure. So the next work-around was to use a mail merge, where the mail client generates a single email message for each addressee.
Questions for long-time users of The Bat!:
a) Does The Bat! have an upper limit on the number of addressees? b) Does it have a mail merge capability?
You might find you have a mail merge facility in your office program; OpenOffice/LibreOffice was frequently suggested as an alternative to the regular email client for mass mailshots. Unfortunately, the lack of integration between your office suite and your usual address book makes this rather a lot of hassle.
